On Monday Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a Startup India Seed Fund worth ₹1,000 crore for new startups in the country. As part of its startup policies, Modi said that the central government will help these startups in raising capital through guarantees going forward.
Speaking at Startup India’s international summit, Prarambh 2021, hosted by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), the Prime Minister noted that eleven startups entered the unicorn club in 2020 despite the COVID-19 pandemic, and claimed that India one of the world’s biggest startup ecosystem with more than 41,000 startups. Of these, 5,700 are in the Information and Technology sector, 3,600 in the health sector, and about 1,700 are active in the agriculture sector.

Partners with Telangana Artificial Intelligence Mission; floats innovation challenge to develop solutions
The National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom) has tied up with Telangana Artificial Intelligence Mission (T-AIM) to launch an Innovation Factory to identify and promote innovative artificial intelligence solutions to address challenges in agricultural sector.
They have announced an ‘innovation challenge’ for start-ups, inviting ideas that can make the lives of farmers easier by helping them increase incomes.
The winner will get a chance to win a prize money of ₹1 lakh, while the runner-up will get ₹50,000.

‘The programme mainly focuses on promoting business skills’
Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE), in association with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM), is offering professional and certification courses in emerging technologies.
In a statement, APSCHE Chairman Hemachandra Reddy said the courses focus on promoting business skills under the banner of FutureSkills Prime to students and faculty members of universities and colleges in the Andhra Pradesh which was the first to launch this programme free of cost.
