For many workers, their offices are now located anywhere with an internet connection, even if that means being in a different state. That accessibility, however, may come with a price for some at tax time.

(Jan. 22, 2021) â Three state chapters of the National Association of Tax Professionals (NATP) will celebrate major milestones in 2021: the New Mexico NATP chapter is celebrating 25 years as a chapter; the Maine NATP chapter is celebrating 25 years as a chapter; and the Virginia NATP chapter is celebrating its 30-year anniversary as a chapter.
State chapters exist to provide local networking and an opportunity for tax preparers to learn more their state-specific tax issues. Each chapter manages their own activities and education and is managed by a state governing body and committee member volunteers. There are 41 individual state chapters that are active within NATP. WASHINGTON The Internal Revenue Service today announced the appointment of 13 new members to the Internal Revenue Service Advisory Council.
The IRSAC, established in 1953, is an organized public forum for IRS officials and representatives of the public to discuss various issues in tax administration. The council provides the IRS commissioner with relevant feedback, observations and recommendations. It will submit its annual report to the agency at a public meeting in November 2021.
The IRS strives to appoint members to the IRSAC who represent the taxpaying public, the tax professional community, small and large businesses, tax exempt and government entities and information reporting interests.
