ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser decided on Sunday to issue production orders for detained parliamentarians so that they could vote in the upcoming Senate elections.
Sources from the Leader of the Opposition’s office told Geo News that production orders will be issued for those who were currently in custody, adding it was the right of every parliamentarian to vote.
Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif and former foreign minister Khawaja Asif are the notable detained lawmakers of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
Besides, Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Khursheed Shah and MNA Ali Wazir Khan are also under detention. Sources confirmed that production orders for these four parliamentarians had been sent to the Speaker. They will be brought to Islamabad on March 2 i.e. a day before the Senate elections. ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser and Defence Minister Pervez Khattak will not be probed during the video scandal investigations as those who levelled allegations against them are “liars” and “sold their conscience”, said Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry on Thursday.
Speaking to Geo News, Chaudhry said the senior PTI leaders would not be probed by the committee set up by PM Imran Khan to conduct a detailed probe into the events that transpired. The premier has directed the investigating team to submit a report and recommendations to him.

SUKKUR/ ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that Imran Khan who had himself committed horse-trading should not throw his mud on them.
Addressing the JUI-F workers, he said, “Movement is a movement and it is not necessary to get its results.” He said, “We accept and stay with the protesting employees in Islamabad.”
He said that NAB is just a tool to victimise the opposition. “There is more corruption now than in the past and now there are voices of accountability from within the government party.”
He said that all the institutions of the state are the servants of masses, so institutions should have to perform their responsibilities in the parameters of constitution. He said that no one can rescue an inefficient PM as his countdown has started. He said that coming days for the PTI government are very crucial because PDM would send them to home and every worker of PDM should get ready to move to Islamabad.
