The Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced over 200 jobs in Kenyan prisons.
In a notice on Tuesday, February 16, the State Department for Correctional Services under the Ministry of Interior & Coordination of National Government is looking for spiritual professionals for the various prisons in the country.
The government department advertised 223 posts for Catechists, Chaplains, and Imams. Applications should reach the Commission on or before March 5, 2021, latest 5:00p.m. (East African Time), the notice directed.

NAIROBI, Kenya (CNS) Some Catholic church leaders in Kenya are proposing church spaces as possible classrooms to replace “classrooms” for children outdoors, under trees.
Most Kenyan schools fully opened to in-person learning Jan. 4 after nearly nine months of closure because of the pandemic, despite some fears about the safety of the nearly 15 million children enrolled in classwork nationwide.

His brother Benjamin Nyaga, yesterday said Ireri succumbed after a long battle with prostate cancer diagnosed at stage 4 in 2016.
Nyaga eulogised the bishop as a man who was not only a pillar of the family but also the community. Even when he became the bishop he focused his attention in ensuring communities around him are united for development, said Nyaga.

Most Kenyan schools fully opened to in-person learning Jan. 4 after nearly nine months of closure because of the pandemic, despite some fears about the safety of the nearly 15 million children enrolled in classwork nationwide.
Schools are facing a slew of new challenges, including too-small classrooms to keep students sufficiently separated, ensuring students wear face masks, a lack of water and shortages of soap for hand-washing. Ministry of Education officials, however, urged innovation to ensure that learning resumes.
