Addressing journalists at the end of the meeting, the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, said Council approved the change of scope for the construction of Abuja-Kaduna-Kano highway.

FG okays Abuja-Kano road reconstruction, jacks up cost by N642.2bn  The Federal Executive Council on Wednesday approved the complete reconstruction of the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano highway. With the approval, the government changed the scope of work on the highway from the ongoing renovation to complete reconstruction. It therefore increased the project cost from N155bn, earlier approved for renovation, to N797.2bn reconstruction cost. The Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, disclosed this to State House correspondents at the end of the weekly meeting of the council presided over by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
