Image Source: IANS News New Delhi, Jan 3 : The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) on Sunday said it has targeted to reduce imports from China to Rs 1 lakh crore this year. In a statement, the traders body said it would run a programme this year to liberate the country s e-commerce business from the clutches of foreign companies. As part of its Boycott Chinese Goods campaign from June 10, 2020, the CAIT has set the target of bringing down imports from China by Rs 1 lakh crore by the end of this year, the traders body added.

Cochin Chamber of Commerce and Industry submits proposals for pre-budget

December 23, 2020 The Cochin Chamber of Commerce and Industry had the privilege to be invited by the Finance Ministry to participate in the 9th pre-budget consultation with the industry in preparation for the forthcoming Union Budget 2021-22. The meeting was chaired by Union Minister for Finance Nirmala Sitharaman. The Chamber was represented by the former President V.Venugopal, who presented recommendations to the panel. The suggestions focused on income tax, industry, trade, services, health, and education, to aid the Ministry in the decision-making process. These suggested interventions are supplemented with reasons and justifications to enable informed decisions from the Ministry’s side.
