THE coronavirus pandemic has hit everyone with many different problems which no one could have seen coming a year and a half ago. While most of us dealt with dodgy internet connections and robotic Zoom voices while working from home and socialising with friends and family, for some, the lockdown has created a myriad of issues which have affected their overall development. Seven-year-old Maia Sharp is a primary two pupil at Hallside Primary School in Cambuslang. Maia was diagnosed as moderately deaf at a very young age after implications with birth trauma following an emergency section.

Government turning blind eye to harm from classroom face mask policy
The watchdog admitted that it did not consider the negative health impacts of requiring children to wear face masks in lessons

The face masks in the classroom policy was never assessed for negative health impacts on children, the Government has admitted.
Public Health England (PHE) has been accused of turning a blind eye to the harm that youngsters are being exposed to by wearing masks for up to eight hours a day.
The watchdog “expressly did not consider any potential disbenefits of the policy” prior to introducing it, according to documents seen by The Telegraph.
A SOLDIER from Worcester is part of a team taking on a gruelling running challenge for charity. Corporal Max Batchelor, who is currently serving in No.8 Training Battalion, The Corps of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME), is joining a team of 19 more servicemen running 529 miles in 12 hours while carrying 15kg weights. The runners are taking on the challenge to raise money for Combat Stress, a mental health charity for veterans. The 29 year-old former Nunnery Wood High School pupil has been in the Army for nine years, including seeing service in Iraq. His unit, Helmand Company, is named after the province in Afghanistan where British soldiers were heavily engaged during the fight against the Taliban.
