KUALA LUMPUR: About 2,000 residents in Kampung Pengkalan Rangoon and Kampung Pondok Pasir in Kemaman, Terengganu now enjoy better 4G telecommunication network following the operation of two new communication towers under the National Digital Infrastructure Plan (Jendela) since June.
The Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) in a statement today said through the effort, the residents in the area could carry out various online activities smoothly.
“The fibre optic fixed line project in the Kemaman area is also being actively implemented involving 8,928 premises,“ the statement said.
To date, it said 6,091 new premises have been equipped with high-speed fibre optic network while the remaining 2,837 premises by the fourth quarter of 2022.
