New Delhi [India], April 20 (ANI): The UGCNET December 2020 cycle examination scheduled for May 2021 has been postponed by the government in view of the COVID-19 pandemic, announced Union Education Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank on Tuesday. Keeping in mind the safety and wellbeing of candidates and exam functionaries during COVID-19 outbreak, I have advised the National Testing Agency to postpone the UGC-NET December 2020 cycle (May 2021) exams, tweeted Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank.
The UGC - National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) for December 2020 cycle (May 2021) in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode was scheduled between May 2 to May 17, 2021, throughout the country covering 81 subjects.

The University Grants Commission (UGC)-National Eligibility Test (NET) December 2020 cycle scheduled to be conducted from May 2 to 17, 2021 has been postponed, announced the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Tuesday. The UGC-NET is conducted for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the eligibility of Assistant Professorship, Junior Research Fellowship or both, for Indian Universities and Colleges.
Union Minister of Education Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank on Tuesday said, Keeping in mind the safety and well-being of candidates and exam functionaries during Covid-19 outbreak, I have advised the NTA to postpone the UGC-NET Dec 2020 cycle (May 2021) exams.

NEW DELHI: The UGC-National Eligibility Test (NET) scheduled to be held from May 2 to 17 has been postponed in view of the Covid-19 pandemic situation, Union education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank announced on Tuesday.
According to an order by the National Testing Agency (NTA), the revised dates for the exam will be announced later, at least 15 days before the examination. Keeping in mind the safety and wellbeing of candidates and exam functionaries during Covid-19 outbreak, I have advised @DG NTA to postpone the UGC-NET Dec 2020 cycle (May 2021) exams, Nishank tweeted. Looking at the present situation of the COVID-19 pandemic and also taking into account the safety and well being of the candidates and examination functionaries, it has been decided to postpone the UGC-NET exam, the order by the NTA stated.
