Ronald F. Garcia Ruiz is an assistant professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Using precision measurements of atoms and molecules made up of short-lived radioactive nuclei, his group investigates the properties of atomic nuclei and of the fundamental forces of nature. Garcia Ruiz earned a bachelor’s degree in physics at the National University of Columbia, a master’s degree in physics at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, and a Ph.D. in nuclear physics at KU Leuven, Belgium. Prior to joining MIT, he was a research associate at the University of Manchester, UK, and a research fellow at CERN.
