New Delhi [India], August 11 (ANI): After being passed in Lok Sabha, the Constitution (One Hundred and Twenty-Seventh Amendment) Bill, 2021 was introduced in Rajya Sabha for its approval on Wednesday.
Constitutional Amendment Bill: The Lok Sabha passed the Constitution (127th), Amendment Bill, on Tuesday, giving states the authority to create their own OBC lists. The bill was passed by the Lok Sabha with 385 votes in favour and no votes against it. The opposition parties have chosen to "cooperate" with the administration in passing the law, and their protests in the House
Moving the Constitution (One Hundred and Twenty-Seventh Amendment) Bill, 2021, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Virendra Kumar said the bill will help restore the powers of states to have their own lists of OBCs which was negated by the Supreme Court.
