New Braunfels Regional Airport earns national designation

New Braunfels Regional Airport recently earned a designation as a national airport within the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems from the Federal Aviation Administration. The designation places the airport as one of only 11 such national airports in Texas and one of 92 such airports in the United States. The National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems, or NPIAS, identifies 3,310 existing and proposed airports included in the national airport system, consisting of all commercial service airports, all reliever airports and certain publicly owned general aviation airports.  General aviation airports are public-use airports that do not have scheduled service or have less than 2,500 annual passenger boardings.

The funds will go towards reconstructing the terminal building at the airport. “The investment in Texarkana Regional Airport-Webb Field will greatly benefit the Texarkana community and Arkansas as a whole,” said U.S. Representative Bruce Westerman. “The FAA’s $4.9 million investment to reconstruct the terminal will be an important part of bolstering Southwest Arkansas’s economy through commerce, tourism, and access.”

Finishing touches being made to the Airport name change, board meeting to discuss Friday

(Riverton, WY) – Ahead of the January 15th Airport board meeting, County 10 caught up with Kyle Butterfield, the City of Riverton’s Public Works Director on how all changes made to the airport name have been updated thus far. The airport is considered a primary commercial service airport (more than 10,000 enplanements a year), according to the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems. Central Wyoming Airport however only flies to a single lone destinations to date which is Denver, Colorado. All signage for the airport will be up to date very shortly, in the coming months according to Butterfield.
