‘AASSC has trained 16,000 so far’
India’s maintenance, repair & overhaul (MRO) landscape is expected to boom with several new players currently waiting in the wings to join the MRO bandwagon, as per Aerospace and Aviation Sector Skill Council (AASSC), a body that manages skill development for the country’s Aerospace and Aviation sector, under the National Skills Development Corporation.

When economic aspects are taken into account alongside cross-cutting issues such as gender, women entrepreneurs in particular have been disproportionately affected.
The pandemic and subsequent control measures such as lockdowns had a strong effect on 64% of businesses owned by women, compared with 52% of those owned by men, according to a survey by the International Trade Center.

Rajouri (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], February 20 (ANI): Youth trained under the National Skills Development Corporation of India s Skill India programme at Rajouri s ITI centre are getting employed in various fields and also setting up their own business and becoming self-reliant.
The ITI Rajouri training campus has provided a platform for the youth to get skills and become employable.
Speaking to ANI, Sajjad Hussain, Principal of ITI Rajouri said the institute has 40 skill courses under which youth are trained under the Skill India programme.
Synopsis
Under the scheme government will train 8 lakh candidates over next three months with an outlay of Rs 948.90 crore with focus on Covid-related skills. As per the plan, the Centre will strengthen district skill committees to identify and cater to local skilling needs under the scheme which will be demand based.

The government had launched the PMKVY scheme in 2015 and revamped it in 2016 to impart skills to one crore persons by 2020 at an allocation of Rs 12,000 crore.
Government will start skills training in 600 districts across all states barring four under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana-3.0 launched on Friday. This will be followed by a five-year PMKVY in 2021-22 with an enhanced target of skilling 1.5 crore youth.
