Local trains back on track in Ranchi, Chakradharpur from January 2021 South Eastern railway releases schedule, asks passengers to use enquiry app before a journey
South Eastern Railway (SER) has decided to restore local passenger train services in its Ranchi and Chakradharpur divisions from the New Year in deference to passengers’ wishes.
Garden Reach, the headquarters of South Eastern Railway in Calcutta, released the schedule of trains on Thursday.
The 08619 / 08620 Ranchi-Dumka Special will run daily from January 2.
The train will leave Ranchi at 9.30pm and reach Dumka the next day at 7.25am.
While the return train will leave Dumka daily at 6.55 pm. The train will reach Ranchi at 3.55 am the next day.

Subsequent to introduction of COVID special trains and festival special trains, train timings have been revised for most of the train services due to operational reasons.
There are changes in timings at the train starting station, enroute stations and destination station for some of the train services originating/terminating from Waltair Division of East Coast Railway and also passing through the Division.
Passengers are therefore advised to check and verify the revised train timings pertaining to their train journeys well before their commencement of journeys, either with the integrated enquiry no. 139 or National Train Enquiry System (NTES) website or IRCTC website or by approaching authorised person at reservation counters/railway stations.

South Eastern Railway (SER) has decided to run more trains to Mumbai, New Delhi and Yesvantpur (Bangalore) from Ranchi and Tatanagar stations in view of steadily rising demand from passengers.
The 02260 Howrah-Mumbai Special train will be introduced from December 14, a Monday. The train will leave Howrah daily at 2 pm and reach Tatanagar station at 5.48 pm. After a two-minute halt, the train will leave for its onward journey and reach Mumbai the next day, ie, Tuesday, at 9.20 pm.
The return train (02259) will leave Mumbai every Thursday from December 17 at 6am. The train will reach Tatanagar the next day, ie, Friday, at 8.25 am. The return train will reach Howrah at 12.30 pm on Fridays.
