Architecture students build vegetable shop in Atayal village

Taipei, Jan. 26 (CNA) Architecture students at National Taipei University of Technology (NTUT) recently built an organic vegetable shop for the residents of an indigenous Atayal village in Hsinchu s Jianshi Township, the university said Tuesday.
In a press release, the university said the project took place under a multi-year partnership with residents in the remote Quri community, which also includes collaboration on agricultural practices and brand marketing.
As part of the latest initiative, NTUT assistant professor Wu Nan-wei (吳南葳) and Li Kuo-hsuan (李國玄) of Woody Plants Design Co. led a team of students through the actual stages of an architectural project, the university said.

The Taipei District Court yesterday sentenced Chang Tzu-yen (張子彥) to six years in prison for placing hidden cameras in school and public toilets to secretly film women and girls, as well as circulating the recordings.
Two years of the sentence can be commuted to a fine and the ruling can be appealed.
Prosecutors had asked for a harsh punishment as a deterrent after an investigation found that Chang, 26, secretly filmed more than 160 girls and women mainly in Taipei and New Taipei City.
