I have observed the genuine concerns being expressed by people on social media over this issue. I also observed acts of mischief and undue personal vendetta being advanced by cynics and pessimists, who usually cash in on such engagements to expose their unruliness, lack of character and sense of respect, as portrayed by one Ikem Okuhu.
May I, therefore, point out that the grundnorm of the Federation, i.e. the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended) gave legal backing to the issue of pension for persons who have held office as the Governor or Deputy Governor of a State in Nigeria.
