Philippines to raise with China chasing incident if true DFA By MICHAELA DEL CALLAR and HANA BORDEY, GMA News Published April 10, 2021 11:19am China Coast Guard ship (file photo) The Philippines will raise with Beijing the issue on reported Chinese ships chasing after a civilian vessel carrying a Filipino television crew in the West Philippine Sea if proven to be true,   the Department of Foreign Affairs said Saturday. While it expressed relief about the safety of the Filipinos aboard the vessel, the DFA reminded the public to coordinate with authorities when planning a visit to the disputed Kalayaan Island Group after the incident.

Photographer Elaine Livingstone has built a powerful tale of a city through its people Published 07 April 2021 BY JENNIFER CONSTABLE for the RPS Journal The photographer Elaine Livingstone has been building a portrait of a city almost every weekday for five years – she has interviewed and photographed more than 1,000 people for the series  .  Some of her most recent portraits in the series, published by the news website Glasgow Live, have featured NHS workers at the frontline of the pandemic.  Livingstone was formerly picture editor of the award-winning Sunday Herald newspaper and The Herald Magazine. She co-founded the New Photographers Guild, and acts as a mentor on behalf of the National Union of Journalists.

Female Journalist Speaks Of Abuse On Social Media A female journalist has spoken of the vile abuse on social platforms including a “too ugly to get raped” comment posted after sharing a video designed to raise awareness of safety concerns faced by women.     Natalie Higgins, the Harrogate and Yorkshire Dales reporter for Greatest Hits Radio, said the comments angered her but that reporting them to Twitter was pointless as the platform claimed the comments do not violate its rules. On one occasion, Yorkshire Live reported, Natalie shared a TikTok video to raise awareness of the safety concerns faced by women who consider walking home at night - and was promptly swamped with negative comments.
