The first pitching competition of Pak Impact Invest was held online on May 22 and 23 in which 29 startups from Ignite’s National Incubation Centers, Ignite funded projects and AP’s network pitched their business plans to national and international investors from North America, Europe, and Pakistan.
Agrisurge innovation challenge to digitise agriculture sector

Islamabad:In collaboration with Ministry of IT & Telecom (MoITT) and Ignite National Technology Fund, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations had launched an Agrisurge Innovation Challenge to jointly work for the acceleration of development of Pakistan’s agriculture sector using technology. Subsequent to signing of the framework collaboration agreement between Ministry of IT and FAO, Agrisurge Innovation Challenge was launched in 2020.
The winners of the challenge were announced at a joint event held in Islamabad here on Monday. The event was attended by Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui, Federal Secretary IT & Telecom, CEO and officials from Ignite, MoITT, the UN agencies, development partners and winning teams of the challenge.

Pakistan launches growth funds for startups

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Tuesday launched the country’s first investment platform to give tech startups access to early-stage and growth funding.
Called ‘PakImpactInvest’, the platform was initiated by the ministry of information technology and telecommunications and its tech innovation arm, Ignite (National Technology Fund).
IT Minister Amin Ul Haque said one of the key challenges of the new technology-based startups is access to early stage and growth stage capital and “I’m sure that this initiative will bridge the gap in an efficient manner”.
Accelerate Prosperity, a joint initiative of the Aga Khan Foundation and Industrial Promotion Services, will assist the ministry and Ignite as the technical advisory partner for co-designing and launching of the investment platform.
