Lyndhurst Mansion Will Host the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show This Weekend
This will be the first time in history that this event is not held in New York City.

Lyndhurst Mansion, in Tarrytown, New York, this weekend.
This change was done to ensure the safety of all who are involved with the event, given the pandemic which is also why it will be held outdoors, on the grounds of the estate. Since the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show’s creation in 1877, it has always been held in Manhattan, at venues like Madison Square Garden (where it was supposed to take place this past February, before being postponed and moved), Piers 92/94, and the now-nonexistent Grand Central Palace. Since its start in 1988, the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s annual endangered places list has spotlighted more than 300 historic sites across America at risk for destruction or irreparable damage, ranging from the National Mall Tidal Basin in Washington, D.C., to Civil War battlefields to the East L.A. high schools that helped ignite the Chicano power movement.
This year’s list of 11 most endangered historic places, announced last week, is devoted entirely to sites linked to the histories of people of color, including the Trujillo Adobe in Riverside, built in 1862 and connected to the story of migration and settlement in inland California.
