Halesite – Supervisor Chad A. Lupinacci announced the Town of Huntington has been awarded a $4,000 Technical Assistance Grant for an engineering study of the Peter Crippen House, a structure significant to Huntington s Black History, from the Preservation League of New York State.

Topsham-Brunswick bridge group weighs appeal to stop span replacement
John Graham of the Friends of the Frank J. Wood Bridge said a closer examination of Maine Department of Transportation calculations would show the cost of rehabilitating the bridge is closer to the cost for replacing it.

TOPSHAM A group trying to save the Frank J. Wood Bridge said it will appeal a federal court ruling that backed the Maine Department of Transportation’s bid to replace the span linking Topsham and Brunswick.
A Maine transportation department spokesperson confirmed Monday that an appeal could further delay the estimated $21.8 million bridge replacement.

MILWAUKEE This Spring, Old Main will reopen to veterans as part of a successful reuse and rehabilitation effort that is restoring the most prominent building on the Soldiers Home campus to its original use. Milwaukee Preservation Alliance (MPA) is launching an effort to explore opportunities to save three more buildings on the campus: the Ward Memorial Theater, Soldiers Home Chapel and Governor’s Mansion.
