The last couple of weeks have brought about intense reflection on who we are, as a campus and as a country, as we grapple with the horrific events in Washington, D.C. This reflection is made even more intense and meaningful this week as we commemorate the 128th anniversary of the overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom, and the celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) Earlier this month, Western Michigan University (WMU) announced that it would host a series of virtual events in honor of Martin Luther King Jr., both leading up to and continuing past Martin Luther King. Jr. Day.

CINCINNATI â The last year left a lot of people hurting â from the COVID-19 pandemic and economic crisis, from the deaths that led to protests for racial justice or from the distressing combination.
But an upcoming event is designed to help the healing begin.
âThe conversations and issues and challenges that Cincinnati faces are really not unique to Cincinnati. Theyâre issues that cities and municipalities and communities face across the country,â said Tia Sherèe Gaynor, founding director of the Center for Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation. âWe wanted to put together an event that spoke to â and lifted up â the work that was happening in Cincinnati but
