From their courtship to their royal wedding and their almost 74-year marriage, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip s love story spanned decades and garnered public interest.
Buckingham Palace announced Friday morning that the Duke of Edinburgh died at Windsor Castle. He was 99.
British historians and commentators often say Philip was one of the keys to the queen s enduring success as a monarch. The queen famously described him as her strength and stay at the couple s golden wedding anniversary in 1997. He is someone who doesn t take easily to compliments, but he has quite simply been my strength and stay all these years, she said in her speech.

On Easter Sunday the church re-opened to welcome thirty members of the congregation as the newly-installed 3 bells Ellacombe – rung by Vicars’ Warden Cilla Evans and People’ s Warden Sue Watkins –sounded across the Nevern Valley for the first time since October 2019.
Lucy Gets The Coronavirus Vaccination

On the anniversary of the first lockdown, we paused for a National Day of Reflection, remembering those who’ve lost their lives to coronavirus, and their loved ones.
As well as holding a minute’s silence at midday, buildings throughout the UK were lit up in yellow – including our own DC Thomson building, here in Dundee.
Some of us (including our Abbie) lit candles on doorsteps or in windows.
Just prior to the anniversary, a blue envelope from NHS Scotland arrived through my letterbox. The letter inside invited me to go along to be vaccinated.
