Bangladesh Pratidin circulation official Alamgir killed in road crash
Md Alamgir Hossain, senior collection executive of circulation department of Bangladesh Pratidin, was killed as a bus hit him at Matuail area in the capital on Saturday evening. He was 42.
Family sources said that a bus of Doudkandi Gate Lock Service hit Alamgir when he was returning home in Matuail from his father-in-law’s house in Kanchpur at 7:30pm, leaving him critically injured.
Later, he was taken to National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (Nitor), popularly known as Pangu Hospital, where doctor declared him dead.
The body was taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) for autopsy.

Govt loses Tk 360.83cr revenue last fiscal

The government has suffered a huge loss of Tk 360.83 crore as massive corruption and other irregularities were reported at nine public hospitals in the capital in the 2019-2020 fiscal year.
During a recent audit, the health audit department has found 84 serious objections, out of 95 financial irregularities, in those hospitals.
The audit has been conducted in Mugda General Hospital (MGH), Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital (SSMCH), Dhaka Dental College Hospital (DDCH), Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital (SSMCH), National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases Hospital (NICDH), Kuwait Bangladesh Maitree Government Hospital (KBMGH), Kurmitola General Hospital (KGH), National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation Hospital (NITORH).
Medical test for AS in 39th BCS begins on Jan 16

DHAKA, Jan 3, 2021 (BSS) – The schedule of health check-up of the 2,000 candidates for the post of Assistant Surgeon (AS) recommended by Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) based on their results in the 39th BCS (Special) 2018 has been announced today.
The health check-up will start from January 16 and will continue till January 21.
The tests will be done at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Sir Salimullah Medical College and Mitford Hospital, National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases, National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedic Rehabilitation (NITOR), Shaheed Suhrawardy Hospital, Mugda Medical College Hospital and National Institute of Diseases of the Chest and Hospital (NIDCH), said a press release.
