Enang Emerges NINM President, Seeks More Roles for Marketing Professionals

Newly-elected President and Chairman of Council, National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN), Mr. Idorenyen Enang, has pledged to improve collaboration between the institute and marketing professionals in the nation’s academia, so as to further reposition and enhance the quality of marketing practitioners in the country. Enang made the call even as experts have suggested that there were huge opportunities for businesses which have suffered adverse effects of the Covid-19 pandemic to turn around their fortunes with the support of marketing practitioners. Speaking in Lagos weekend after being sworn in as the Institute’s new president and chairman of council, he explained that one of the priorities of his administration would be to fully engage marketing professionals in the academia and ensure they contribute more to the capacity development programme of the institute.

NIMN Poll Debate: Aspirants Promise to Strengthen Marketing Profession

The aspirants spoke during a debate organised by the Institute for those aspiring to get elected. NIMN is the umbrella professional body recognised by law to regulate the marketing profession in Nigeria, and the aspirants have also given breakdown details of how they plan to strengthen it. Two aspirants Mr Idorenyen Enang and Mrs Ifeoma Sheila Emasiana-Dike are gunning for the position of President of the Institute, while two aspirants Chidi Nwankpa and Dr Peter Oriawote are eyeing the Council position. Speaking on day two of the debate, one of the candidates for the post of president, Enang, enumerated what he described as bold and big strides to strengthen the Institute.

Insecurity: Southern governors meet in Asaba, ban open grazing; call for national conference

Daily Post Nigeria Published Governors from the southern part of Nigeria on Tuesday met in Asaba, Delta State to proffer solutions to killings, kidnapping and other challenges bedevilling the nation. The governors, Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo) and others, gathered to address the growing issues of insecurity and other matters affecting their regions. It was gathered that Gov Gboyega Oyetola of Osun and his Cross Rivers counterpart, Ben Ayade were absent at the meeting. DAILY POST reports that the governors, under the aegis of the Southern Nigeria Governors Forum (SNGF), said they condemned open grazing of animals and movement of cattle from the northern part of the country to the south.
