NIMCET exam 2021: Considering the Covid-19 situations, the National Institute of Technology (NIT Raipur) has deferred the NIMCET-2021 examination scheduled to be held on May 23.
NIT Raipur in its notification mentioned, Due to the prevailing situation of the pandemic and also taking into account the safety and well-being of the candidates and examination functionaries, the date of NIMCET-2021 examination and its related activities i.e. date of choice filling, counselling, admission etc are hereby postponed till further notice.âÂ
The revised dates of NIMCET will be announced at least 15 days before the examination.The application process was earlier closed on April 7. The exam is held for admission to MCA courses. Besides NIT Raipur, other institutes also accept NIMCET scores.Â

Srinagar: The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Babol Noshirvani University of Technology (BNUT), Iran to explore collaborative, academic, research activities and understandings.
According to a statement issued to the news agencyâKashmir News Observer (KNO), the MoU was signed by Director, NIT Srinagar Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Sehgal and Chancellor, BNUT, Iran Prof. (Dr.) Javad Vaseghi Amiri to collaborate on different academic activities.
BNUT was founded in 1973 by one of the greatest philanthropists of Iran, Late Seyed Hossein Fallah Noshirvani in Babol, a city of Iran. Since the year 2008, it is known as Babol Noshirvani University of Technology.

COVID awareness drive
NSS volunteers of J. J. College of Arts and Science, Pudukottai, distributed masks to residents of villages near the institution in the wake of rapid rise in the rate of COVID-19 infection.
Students approached villagers of Kammangasetty Sathiram, Melathemuthupatti, Keezhathemuthupatti, Namansamuthiram, Thalampatti and Sivapuram and created awareness of use of sanitisers, masks and other safety practices to prevent the infection from spreading fast.
College Secretary N. Subramanian, Trustee of Karpaga Vinayaga Trust Kavitha Subramanian and Principal Parasuraman joined the students in conducting the awareness drive.

Local self-Government Department collates data submitted by local bodies
Nearly 164 tonnes of municipal solid waste out of the estimated 1,199 tonnes generated daily in Ernakulam remains untreated, according to official estimates.
The gaps in the scientific management of solid waste came to the fore after the Local Self-Government Department collated the data submitted by local bodies as on February this year. A detailed picture on the status of the municipal solid waste management was submitted before the National Green Tribunal in the case related to the compliance of Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016 by States.
