Infant, Toddler and Caregiver-Friendly Neighbourhoods Training and Capacity Building Programme Launched

Share New Delhi: The ‘Infant Toddler and Caregiver-friendly Neighbourhoods (ITCN) Training and Capacity Building Programme’ was launched virtually today by National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) in partnership with Bernard van Leer Foundation (BvLF). The Programme is designed to help build capacities of city officials and young professionals for developing young children and family-friendly neighbourhoods within cities in India. Shri Kunal Kumar, Joint Secretary and Mission Director (Smart Cities), Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs remotely launched the event. The attendees of the event included Shri Hitesh Vaidya, Director, NIUA, Ms. Rushda Majeed, India Representative, BvLF, Ms. Kakul Misra, National Program Head- Centre for Digital Governance, NIUA, Shri Utsav Choudhury, Team Leader – Building Accessible, Safe, and Inclusive Indian Cities, NIUA. The Smart City CEOs, Municipal Commissioners and young professionals were also among the remote participants.

Launched by the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) in partnership with the Bernard van Leer Foundation (BvLF), the programme is designed to help build capacities of city officials and young professionals for developing young children and family-friendly neighbourhoods.

Share New Delhi: With the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has proposed to make modifications to the Master Plan-2021 for incorporating the Green Development Area Policy, the National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO) organised ‘Consultative Process on DDA Green Development Policy’ Hybrid event today.   While addressing the NAREDCO workshop, Ms. Manju Paul, Addl. Commissioner, Planning, Delhi Development Authority (DDA), said, “The Green Development Area Policy is extremely important and DDA is very keen to implement it without any delay.”   Ms. Paul also appreciated the NAREDCO’s efforts in organising this consultation and indicated that the recommendations, as received would be put up to the board of inquiry and suggestions incorporated in the policy. She also indicated that the DDA would also invite NAREDCO for presenting their recommendations to the board of inquiry. Meeting held on DDA’s green policy Updated: Updated: Share Article AAA A consultative process on the Delhi Development Authority’s (DDA) Green Development Area (GDA) policy was held on Tuesday by NAREDCO along with officials from the urban body. Framework of the GDA policy and emphasis on timely implementation of policies were some of the issues discussed. Officials from DDA, NAREDCO, National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) and representatives from several resident welfare associations participated in the discussion and deliberations. Wider roads, better implementation of policies and coordination between various civic agencies were of the suggestions put forth. NIUA director Hitesh Vaidya said the GDA and Land Pooling Policy were key ingredients for the Master Plan for Delhi-2041.
