The total number of non-resident tourists checked in with Romania s collective tourist accommodation facilities in the third quarter of this year was 95,000, their spending amounting to 190.4 million lei, informs the National Institute of Statistics (INS) on Wednesday.
During the mentioned period, the non-resident tourists who arrived in Romania spent, on average, 2,005 lei / person.
According to INS data, in Q3, 2020, 59.8% of the non-resident tourists came to Romania on business, to attend congresses, conferences, courses, fairs and exhibitions, their spending representing 60.3% out of the total figure.

The Church, the Army and the Romanian Academy occupy the first places in terms of the degree of trust granted by Romanians, according to the first barometer of the religious life in Romania, presented on Wednesday in the Aula Magna of the Romanian Academy, as reported by AGERPRES.
According to the barometer, conducted by the LARICS Center for Sociological Research, in partnership with the State Secretariat for Religions and the Institute of Political Science and International Relations of the Romanian Academy, in terms of trust, after the Church - 71.2% (41.4% - very much ; 29.8% - a lot), ranking second is the Army, with 61.8% (17.8% - a lot; 44% - a lot), followed by the Romanian Academy, with 45.6% (9, 4% - very much; 36.2% - much), City Hall, with 43% (11% - very much; 32% - much); the Police, with 41.1 (11.4% - very much; 29.7% - a lot) and the Ministry of Health, with 34% (6.3% - a lot; 27.7% - a lot).
Lower shipments of mining products had a negative impact on the overall export of traditional products.
The volume exported from the mining sector fell by 15.0% when compared to the same month of the previous year due to the lower shipments of copper (-14.5%), gold (-9.0%), zinc (-36.1 %) and lead (-13.2%); while shipments of iron (24.1%), tin (53.1%) and refined silver (23.1%) increased . . .
