India launches Brazil s first indigenous observation satellite

1 minute read New Delhi, Feb 28 (efe-epa).- India on Sunday successfully launched Amazon 1, the first observation satellite fully designed, manufactured and operated by Brazil, as part of the close space collaboration between the two countries. The launch was carried out with a PSLVC51 polar vehicle at 10.24 am local time (4.54 GMT), from the Sriharikota base in the southeastern state of Andhra Pradesh, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) reported. “Primary satellite mazonia1 successfully separated from SLVC51,” ISRO said on its official Twitter handle. At launch, the first by NSIL – the commercial branch of ISRO -, another 18 secondary satellites were also sent, including three from Indian institutes.
