HANOI, July 18 (Bernama): The Vietnamese Ministry of Health this week has issued a decision approving the Covid-19 Vaccine Janssen produced by Johnson & Johnson for emergency use as in the country are hittng record numbers, Vietnam news agency (VNA) has reported.
Janssen is the sixth vaccine endorsed in Vietnam so far, after Astra Zeneca, Sputnik V, Pfizer, Vero Cell and Moderna.
The ministry asked the Drug Administration of Vietnam to license the import of the vaccine and abide by regulations on the management of import and the quality of imported vaccines.
The General Department of Preventive Medicine is responsible for conducting vaccination using Janssen. The ministry also assigned the National Institute for Control of Vaccine and Biologicals to conduct checks and grant certificates for batches of Janssen vaccine before use.

All 63 provinces and cities in the country and the military and police are set to get the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine Vietnam has received under the Covax program.
The Ministry of Health on Wednesday approved a detailed plan for the distribution under which 317,550 of the 811,200 doses received last week in the first batch of vaccines through the global program will be distributed to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in 28 northern localities, 68,700 doses to 11 central localities and 245,350 doses to 20 southern localities.
HANOI (Vietnam News/ANN): Vietnam's Covid-19 vaccination will begin right after the health ministry receives an accreditation certificate from South Korea for the Covid-19 vaccine batch that arrived on Feb 24, which is due later this week or early next week.

HÀ NỘI Việt Nam’s COVID-19 vaccination will begin right after the health ministry receives an accreditation certificate from the Republic of Korea (RoK) for the COVID-19 vaccine batch that arrived on February 24, which is due later this week or early next week.
Deputy Minister of Health Trương Quốc Cường made the announcement at the Government’s regular press conference in Hà Nội on Tuesday, in response to questions over vaccination progress after the first 117,600 doses of Oxford/AstraZeneca, manufactured in RoK, bought commercially via Việt Nam Vaccine Company (VNVC), had arrived in Việt Nam.
