The Interior Ministry issued a statement to clarify facts and refute frequent allegations of the Qatari Al Jazeera Channel as part of its hostile campaign against the Kingdom of Bahrain.
In the statement, the Interior Ministry asserted the following:
First: The report of Al Jazeera channel quoting US Congress Members calling for “the release of political prisoners in Bahrain” is baseless and against reality. Bahrain has no single political prisoner. Those serving their penalties at the Reformation and Rehabilitation Centre, in which Al Jazeera and its proxies are pressuring for their release, are convicts in criminal and terrorist cases, and final verdicts were issued against them after completing all judiciary phases.

Qatari-state-owned Al Jazeera is siding with people wanted on terrorism charges and untrustworthy sources to create inciting reports against Bahrain, said an Interior Ministry statement. “Their methodology also includes repeat broadcast of statements by European parliamentarians, who are ignorant of the reality of the rights situation in the Kingdom, which were proved wrong by the Kingdom earlier,” Interior Ministry said.
The statements quote European Parliamentarians alleging their concern over the human rights situation at the Reformation and Rehabilitation Centre in “Jau” and demanding the release of specific names, claiming they are “prisoners of opinion”. The inciting reports are circulated widely for the past few days by state-run Al Jazeera Channel, the ministry said, adding that the Security Information Centre at the Interior Ministry is keeping a close eye on their activity.

The Police Media Centre at the Interior Ministry has, over the past days, noticed some inciting news reports broadcast by the Qatari government-sponsored Al Jazeera Channel. The statements quote European Parliamentarians alleging their concern over the human rights situation at the Reformation and Rehabilitation Centre in Jau and demanding the release of specific names, claiming they are prisoners of opinion .
The Interior Ministry affirmed that the incitement campaign of the Qatari channel through the support of their owners is an aggressive campaign against Bahrain and has nothing to do with slogans the channel uses for media consumption .
The Police Media Centre at Bahraini Ministry of Interior responded Friday to what it deemed incitement-intended reports broadcast by the Qatari government-sponsored Al Jazeera Channel.
