Vodafone Idea (Vi) may soon be left without an option but to file for bankruptcy with the Supreme Court rejecting reassessment of its dues to the government, which could spoil its efforts to raise funds in time to meet payment obligations, analysts said.
Given its inability to push through a significant tariff hike in a fiercely competitive telecom market, the cash-strapped telco may find it tough to survive beyond next April without a major relief package from the government, they said.
NOIDA: Facing a barrage of cases before various forums in UP and other parts of the country, the Noida Authority has decided to rope in a law firm to handle the legal challenges. The Authority on Friday initiated the process to hire a law firm to meet the acute shortage of in-house legal experts.
Though the Authority’s legal section has a total of 26 employees, including contractual workers, only six are posted as law officers and designated to give an opinion on legal matters. Compounding the problems, the Authority’s chief legal advisor Angad Prasad was transferred as the principal judge of the family court in Gautam Budh Nagar on April 7 this year. Currently, additional CEO Praveen Mishra is officiating in his place.
