Telecom Argentina S A announces consolidated results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2021 ( 1Q21 )*

( Telecom Argentina ) - (NYSE: TEO; BASE: TECO2), announced today a Net Income of $9,012 million for the period ended March 31, 2021 (+139.2% vs. 1Q20). The Net Income attributable to the Controlling Company was P$8,741 million (+140.4% vs. 1Q20). It is worth mentioning that the comparative figures for the previous fiscal year have been restated so that the resulting comparative information is presented in terms of the current measurement unit as of March 31, 2021. The general price level as measured in terms of the National Consumer Price Index (NCPI, 2013=100) increased in January 2020, moved on a declining trend until April and increased thereafter in line with the prices of items in the Food category. Within the Food category, prices of Volatile Food items exhibited mixed movements, while prices of other food items exhibited an overall increasing trend during the period from January to September 2020. Pakistan s Consumer Inflation Jumps to 13 Months High

Pakistan’s consumer inflation (CPI) rate jumped to 11.1 percent on a year-on-year basis in April 2021 as compared to an increase of 9.1 percent in the previous month and 8.5 percent in April 2020 mainly due to increase in prices of food items, fruits, and clothing and footwear, says the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS). This was the highest rate of inflation in the past 13 months. In February 2020, inflation had jumped to 12.4 percent and 10.2 percent in March 2020. According to the monthly review of price indices by the PBS, on a month-on-month basis, the CPI increased by 1 percent in April 2021 as compared to an increase of 0.4 percent in the previous month and a decrease of 0.8 percent in April 2020.

According to the data shared by Pakistan Bureau of Static (PBS), on a month-on-month basis, the CPI increased by 1.0 percent in April 2021 as compared to an increase of 0.4 percent in the previous month and a decrease of 0.8 percent in April 2020. The CPI inflation urban increased by 11.0 percent on a year-on-year basis in April 2021 as compared to an increase of 8.7 percent in the previous month and 7.7 percent in April 2020. On a month-on-month basis, it increased by 1.3 percent in April 2021 as compared to an increase of 0.3 percent in the previous month and a decrease of 0.7 percent in April 2020. NCPI based inflation increased to 5 1-pct in March 2021

This was due to the statistical effect of the low base prevailed in March 2020. Meanwhile, Food inflation (Y-o-Y) increased to 8.8 percent in March 2021 from 6.9 percent in February 2021 and Non-Food inflation (Y-o-Y) increased marginally to 2.0 percent in March 2021 from 1.9 percent in February 2021. The change in the NCPI measured on an annual average basis decreased to 5.3 percent in March 2021 from 5.5 percent in February 2021. Monthly change of NCPI recorded at -0.48 percent in March 2021 due to price decreases observed in items of Food category. Moreover, monthly changes of Food and Non-food categories recorded at -0.63 percent and 0.16 percent, respectively in March 2021. Accordingly, within the Food category, decreases were observed mainly in the prices of vegetables, green chilli and red onion during March 2021.
