KUALA LUMPUR, April 29 Most private hospitals, especially in the Klang Valley, no longer have room to accept Covid-19 patients due to the recent spike in cases, said an industry group.
The move to allow private hospitals to accept Covid-19 patients was among those cited as necessary when the government issued a proclamation of Emergency in the country.

KUALA LUMPUR: Most private hospitals, particularly in the Klang Valley, are currently unable to accept any more Covid-19 patients due to a sharp increase of such patients in their facilities in the last 14 days, said the Association of Private Hospitals Malaysia (APHM).
Its president Datuk Dr Kuljit Singh said all the designated beds in the Covid-19 wards and even the isolated intensive care unit (ICU) beds have been constantly occupied.
He said private hospitals are constrained on the number of beds and ICU facilities that can accommodate Covid-19 patients and the availability of specialists and nurses which further compounds the restriction.

VOV.VN - The country documented no new cases of COVID-19 on the morning of April 28, while close to 320,000 people were vaccinated against COVID-19, according to the Ministry of Health.
The nation has so far recorded a total of 2,857 coronavirus infections, including 1,570 locally-transmitted cases and 1,287 imported ones.
Among the overall figure, a total of 2,516 coronavirus patients have fully recovered from the disease, with the death toll related to the SARS-CoV-2-virus remaining at 35.
Furthermore, 48 of those still receiving treatment have tested negative for the virus at least once, with most of them giving negative results.
In addition, more than 38,260 people who are currently in quarantine nationwide after having close contact with COVID-19 patients or entering Vietnam from pandemic-hit regions.
