The foundation plans to host numerous fundraisers throughout Memorial Day weekend, including live music, Texas Rangers watch parties and thoroughbred horse racing. Events will be at Texas Live! in Arlington and Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie.

However, the passage of time did nothing to diminish the pride felt by the Harvey family Saturday morning at Glen Rest Memorial Estates. First Lieutenant Richard Dick Harvey, 98, a decorated World War II bomber pilot and mainstay of a western Licking County farming family, died in May of last year during the pandemic. COVID-19 intervened in his receiving military honors. But the Licking County Honor Guard did not forget, and on Saturday, gave him his just due.
