Temple legend John Chaney, a pioneer for Black basketball coaches, passed away on Friday at 89 years old.
The
Philadelphia Inquirer s Mike Jensen first reported the news of Chaney s passing, which Dana O’Neil of
The Athletic confirmed. Temple announced he passed away late Friday morning after a short illness. John Chaney was a great coach, but he was so much more. For generations of students, he was a wise counselor, a dedicated teacher, an icon of success, and a passionate leader who always led by example and with conviction, said Temple President Richard M. Englert, who knew Chaney since he came to Temple in 1982. I am also honored to say he was a dear friend.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama head football coach Nick Saban announced the addition of Bill O’Brien to the Crimson Tide coaching staff on Thursday as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Tide.

CONWAY, S.C. â The Maxwell Football Club announced that Coastal Carolinaâs Jamey Chadwell has been selected as the 2020 George Munger Collegiate Coach of the Year Award winner.
Chadwell has also been named the 2020 Walter Camp Coach of the Year, the Associated Press Coach of the Year, The Home Depot College Football Coach of the Year, the 2020 Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year, the Sporting Newsâ 2020 Coach of the Year, the 2020 CBS Sports/247Sports Coach of the Year, the Paul âBearâ Bryant Group of 5 2020 Conference Coach of the Year, and was chosen by fans as The Premier Coach of College Football by Premier Players, Inc.
