One student killed in clashes as protest damanding for physical exam turn violent in Lahore

LAHORE, Pakistan: Students of various Private Educational Institutions continued their protest on Tuesday in various Cities of Punjab to press their demand for the physical exam; however as the situation turned violent, one student was killed in the unrest while seven reportedly sustained injuries.
Reportedly a student named Shah Jahan died when students’ protest resulted in violent clashes between the students and guards of a Private Educational Institution in Lahore.
Students of the University of Management & Technology (UMT), the University of Central Punjab (UCP), and the University of Lahore again held a strong protest outside the Premises of their respective Institutions in Lahore today.

Hundreds of Pakistani university students rallied in the northwestern city of Peshawar on January 22 to demand that they be allowed to write their exams online instead of being forced to take them in person in examination halls.
The students from Peshawar University told RFE/RL that they attended classes throughout the year online due to the COVID-19 pandemic and want to be examined under those same virtual conditions.
They also demanded a reduction in tuition fees since they did not attend classes in person, and said that boarding schools should not be charging for lodging or meals.

ISLAMABAD: A large number of students of the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) staged a protest on Monday against the university s administration and demanded that exams should be held online.
Motorists here at 9th Avenue, IJP Road, Peshawar Road, Pirwdahi Road, Karachi Company Road and several other roads faced hell like situation due to traffic jam. The motorists could not move even a single step due to bumper-to-bumper traffic jam on federal capital roads.
The university administration has failed to convince students to call off strike till filing of this report, while police completely closed all roads, leading towards university for all kinds of traffic to control law and order situation.
