NUMS Medical City to provide healthcare to 12m people

Rawalpindi : Lt General Nigar Johar, HI(M) Surgeon General DGMS(IS) called on Vice Chancellor of the National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) Lt Gen (r) Syed Muhammad Imran Majeed HI(M), here Monday and was briefed on a multi-billion rupees planned Medical City in Sector I-17, which would provide healthcare to over 12 million people of Islamabad, Rawalpindi Division, Khyber-Pakhtunkhawa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Northern Areas.
TheMedical City worth an estimated cost of Rs370,00 billion ($2.4billion), will spread over 1,000 acres of land already allotted by CDA for the purpose after the approval of the Cabinet in 2018.
To ensure a paramount progression in the healthcare ecosystem in Pakistan, Lt. General Nigar Johar, Surgeon General of DGMS (IS), proposed the concept of a Medical City to Vice Chancellor of the National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS), Syed Muhammad Imran Majeed in order to accelerate healthcare in Pakistan.
NUMS, NIH sign DoU to strengthen research cooperation

Rawalpindi: The National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) and National Institute of Health Islamabad (NIH) signed five year Document of Understanding (DoU) here Friday to strengthen research cooperation in the development of medical sciences.
The DoU was inked by NUMS Vice Chancellor Lt. General (r) Syed Muhammad Imran Majeed and Executive Director NIH Major General Aamir Ikram at a simple ceremony at the university secretariat. Pro-Vice Chancellor Academics Major General (r) Saleem Ahmed Khan and Pro -Vice Chancellor Admn. Major General (r) Syed Reza Hamdani were present on the occasion.
PMC appreciates NUMS exam process

Rawalpindi : Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) has lauded the efforts of National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) in improving medical practices through innovative, creative and ethical approaches in the health sector and medical education.
