ADRIAN The process of updating school policy and student handbook information could begin after today s meeting of the Adrian Public Schools Board of Education.
The school board could approve a purchase and business agreement with Thrun Law Firm of East Lansing, after the firm informed the board some of its handbook policies might not be up to date with state regulations.

Since 1972, National School Nurses Day has been set aside to celebrate this unique and specialized division of nursing. This year Gov. Janet Mills and the Maine Department of Education join the Maine Association of School Nurses to celebrate and honor school nurses on May 12, recognizing all Maine school nurses as the 2020-21 “School Nurses of the Year.”
“This past year, unlike any other, school nurses in particular across the State of Maine have helped adapt with grace and grit to protect the health of our children,” said Mills in her video message to Maine school nurses.
Happy Cinco de Mayo! On May 5, 1862, the Mexican army defeated the French Army at the Battle of Puebla. This single military battle signified defeat of a European colonial power, and a victory for the Mexican people. This single battle was the roots of Cinco de Mayo. What Cinco de Mayo has come to be, is much more than one battle in the colonial history of Mexico. Rather, it has come to signify Hispanic and Mexican pride and a time to celebrate the rich culture.
Today, Mexicans and especially the Hispanic/Latino community in the United States celebrate this holiday. It is a time of song, dance, partying and, in general, a time to be proud to be of Hispanic/Latino culture. And we of all races and cultures are invited to join in the celebration. Be it nachos and beer or salsa, chips and margaritas, or a full-blown seven course dinner with singing, mariachi bands and dancing until dawn, it is a day of celebration. We all get to join
