Vietnam needs to increase the proportion of wind power, especially offshore wind power, in the total power capacity targeted in the National Power Development Plan for 2021-2030 with a vision to 2045 (Power Development Plan VIII), so as to attract more foreign investors in the field, according to businesses and experts.

Hanoi (VNA) – The
2021 list of the 500 fastest-growing companies in Vietnam (FAST500) was
released by the
Vietnam Report JSC and the VietNamNet e-newspaper on March 10.
Those named in the rankings,
including the An Tien Industries JSC, Quang Ninh Port JSC, Vien Dong Investment
and Trading Development JSC, Sao Mai Group, and Thai Trung Steel Rolling JSC,
are described as dynamic businesses and “emerging stars” which have weathered

State-run Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (Egat) is planning to install the second 24-megawatt floating solar farm at Ubol Ratana Dam in Khon Kaen as part of its solar energy development expansion.
Egat on Thursday announced a partnership with the Royal Thai Army to conduct a joint feasibility study on the construction of a 300MW solar farm on military land in the western province of Kanchanaburi.

15 Egat s floating solar power farm, with a capacity of 45 megawatts, is on a reservoir at Sirindhorn Dam in Ubon Ratchathani province.
State-run Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (Egat) expects to operate a 45-megawatt floating solar farm it claims to be the largest in the world in Ubon Ratchathani in June after a delay caused by the pandemic.
Egat signed a contract with B.Grimm Power Plc, which will serve as an engineering, procurement and construction firm to develop photovoltaic panels worth 842 million baht on Sirindhorn Dam, where an Egat hydropower plant is operating.
