Pipeline Ransom Not A Priority For White House!? | News Talk 550 KFYI | The Conservative Circus w/ James T Harris

By James T. Harris May 11, 2021 The Colonial Pipeline came under a cyber-attack and now blame is allegedly being claimed by a Russian gang seeking ransom to release control over the pipeline. What is the viewpoint from the White House on this matter? This is a private sector decision. Is this not the very definition of a major National Security Threat on our country from a foreign entity!? So when Russia is involved in any whisper of collusion that suits the needs of the Left they will jump all over it. Otherwise there is nothing to see here!? The White House seems to comment on just about everything else but defers to the private sector on something that impacts the country s actual infrastructure?

COVID-19 Remains A Threat To National Security – Interior Minister

Mr Ambrose Dery, the Minister of the Interior, says COVID-19 is a real threat to national security and called for effective collaboration among security officials to use innovative ways to combat the pandemic. “The Covid-19 pandemic is a threat to national security and must be dealt with as such,” he said. “Events around the world have clearly shown that no single country or institution has been able to tackle the devastating pandemic alone.” Mr Dery said this during the opening ceremony of Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) three-day Management and Regional Commanders Retreat in the Eastern Regional capital, Koforidua. He said although the Government had built a strong synergy of interagency approach and collaborative effort among the security services, it was important to devise new ways of fighting the pandemic.

Bitcoin: National Security Threat? - The Daily Reckoning

Bitcoin: National Security Threat? After Bitcoin crashed from $20,000 to $3,400 in 2018, many observers decided the craze was over, and Bitcoin would slowly decline in price and fade into obscurity. But reports of the death of Bitcoin were premature. In 2021, a new mania took hold, and the price surged to $60,000 before backing off a bit. Today it’s trading at about $56,871 (Bitcoin is so volatile, it could change by the time you read this). But the price of bitcoin has not simply gone up. Now, millions of first-time users, mostly millennials and Generation Z, have joined the bandwagon. Very few observers really understand the technology behind Bitcoin (including millions of the new buyers), but this seems irrelevant to most. They are true believers, akin to a cult or tribe.

Fighting Ransomware: A Call for Cryptocurrency Regulation

Get Permission A coalition of government agencies and security firms has released a framework for how to disrupt ransomware attacks that calls for expanded regulation of the global cryptocurrency market to better track the virtual coins paid to cybercriminals during extortion schemes. On Thursday, the Institute for Security and Technology s Ransomware Task Force published the framework, which features 48 proposals. It calls for a coordinated, international diplomatic and law enforcement effort to combat these cyberthreats - for example, by discouraging nation-states from harboring cybercriminals and their operations. The group also encourages the White House to take the lead on addressing ransomware by creating a group that includes representatives of the National Security Council, the office of the National Cyber Director, and security companies to coordinate the effort.
