NPUST retains ranking as Taiwan s greenest university for 7th year

Taipei, Dec. 30 (CNA) National Pingtung University of Science & Technology (NPUST) has been ranked No. 1 in Taiwan and No. 4 in Asia on the 2020 list of the most sustainable universities worldwide, according to the university.
It is the seventh consecutive year that NPUST has retained the No. 1 spot in Taiwan and has been listed among the greenest universities in Asia and the world, the GreenMetric World University Rankings showed.
On the 2020 global list, NPUST was ranked 31st, up from 37th in 2019, while it moved up two places in the Asia rankings from 6th last year.

On the evening of Sept. 2, just as they set off to eat dinner, the staff at WildOne Wildlife Rescue Center, in Taitung County’s Chihshang Township (池上), were notified that a car had collided with a Reeves’s muntjac a type of small deer on the other side of the Coastal Mountain Range.
“We don’t yet have a rescue vehicle, but the police in Changbin (長濱) didn’t hesitate to help. About an hour later, they brought the injured muntjac to us,” remembers Chi Meng-jou (綦孟柔), co-founder and chairperson of WildOne Wildlife Conservation Association (野灣野生動物保育協會).
