Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam recorded 46 new
COVID-19 infections,
including 40 domestic and six imported cases, in the past 12 hours to 6pm on
May 7, the Ministry of Health (MoH) said.
The domestic infections were detected in the capital city of
Hanoi (24), the northern provinces of Hai Duong (1), Dien Bien (1), Ha Nam (1),
Hung Yen (4), Nam Dinh (1), Phu Tho (1), Vinh Phuc (1) and central province of Nghe
An (1) and central Da Nang city (5).
The new patients brought the total number of infections in
Vietnam to 3,137, including 1,731 domestic cases. Of them, 161 cases have been

All three facilities of Vietnam s National Cancer Hospital, also known as K Hospital, in Hanoi were put under lockdown from 5:30am on May 7, after 10 COVID-19 infections were recorded in the hospital’s Tan Trieu facility.

On May 6 evening, the capital city’s Centre for Disease Control (CDC) also reported additional three cases, including two in Thuong Tin district and one in Dong Anh district.
The case in Dong Anh is related to the outbreak in the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases No.2, which was earlier put under lockdown on May 5.

Hanoi, Feb 5 (Prensa Latina) Cancer is the second leading cause of death in Vietnam, with nearly a fifth of the total, local medical authorities reported today on the occasion of World Cancer Day.
According to reports to international organizations, as many as 165,000 new cancer cases are annually being detected and death toll average 115,000, a figure that is only exceeded by cardiovascular diseases.
In the Asia-Pacific region, Vietnam is one of the countries with highest mortality rates among patients suffering from cancer, over 60%.

VinaCapital Foundation in cooperation with Roche Vietnam announced on December 16 the launch of the Immortal Wish programme with the total fund value of VND550 million ($23,900) to help assure the quality of healthcare and improve the lives of children.
Under the Immortal Wish programme new decoration, furniture, equipment, and materials were donated to the paediatric room of the stem cell transplant department of the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion
The Immortal Wish programme includes a series of dynamic activities in seven hospitals across Vietnam where paediatric cancer patients are being treated, as well as two health check-ups for 3,000 children in Nam Tra My district in the southern province of Quang Nam.
