Liberia: Dr. Fallah Gets International Recognition in Formation of Global Network

MONROVIA – The former Director General of the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL) has received more international recognitions as he has been included in the formation of the Global Alliance for Communities (GAC).
The GAC is a coalition of grassroots leaders from around the world that will act as a vehicle to drive greater visibility and participation by community-based, proximate leaders in the global development agenda.
As part of its duty, the GAC will provide immediate support for marginalized communities battling COVID-19.

The government of the People’s Republic of China has donated a consignment of medical supplies to the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL). The consignment which includes 9,090 packs of Ribavirin Injection, 1,200 packs of Ribavirin Tablets and 1,800 pieces of PPEs is intended to support the government of Liberia in tackling Lassa Fever.
Making the donation at a brief ceremony on January 11, 2021 at the National Public Health Institute of Liberia offices located in Congo Town, Chinese Ambassador accredited near Monrovia, H.E. Ren Yisheng said “Today, on behalf of the Chinese Government, I am pleased to formally hand over the Lassa Fever medication to the Liberian Government to help meet the needs and treat Lassa Fever patients in Liberia.

As the African continent is being praised in its efforts towards the fight against the global pandemic, the Coronavirus Disease or COVID-19, the former Director General of the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL) has been highlighted as one of the key figures in stopping the spread of the pandemic.
According to a latest article released by the Time Magazine, Dr. Mosoka Fallah and other doctors and public health officials in countries that already had experience with outbreaks of other infectious disease sprang into action for early prevention.
