Commissioner of Police, Major General Antony Anderson, is encouraging all police officers to get vaccinated in an effort to be protected from COVID-19, as they carry out their duties.
Anderson received his first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine on Friday. He was among several police officers vaccinated on the day, as the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) began its COVID-19 vaccination roll-out at the National Police College of Jamaica (NPCJ) in St. Catherine.
According to the JCF, Anderson has encouraged all members of the police force to use the present window of opportunity to get the COVID-19 vaccine. Outside of health care workers. as a group, I think the JCF is probably the most exposed after that, the senior lawmen and former military officer stated.

A release from the Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has presented more details of the motor vehicle collision that led to the death of a police constable in St Andrew on Thursday morning.
Reports indicate that about 8:10 am, Constable Morrison was driving a police service motorcycle when on reaching the intersection of Arnold Road and Camp Road, a female motorist turned suddenly into the path of the service motorcycle, resulting in the collision, the CCU release said
The lawman was flung from the motorcycle and sustained multiple injuries from the overall impact.
