Saturday is National Prescription Drug Take-Back day, a day where you can get rid of unwanted prescriptions or over the counter medicines anonymously, and with no questions asked.  Major Jeff Connor of the Madison County Sheriff’s Department tells the Big Z getting prescription drugs out of the house and off the street is the goal. Click here for Connor s comments The drop off times for Saturday are 10am to 2pm at the parking lot on 2nd Street behind the County Administration Building in downtown Edwardsville. Several local departments including Alton, East Alton, Bethalto, Edwardsville, Granite City, and Roxana have drop boxes available anytime.

(WWBT) - The Hopewell Police Department is working with the Drug Enforcement Administration for the 19th annual National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. On Saturday, April 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., community members can dispose of potentially dangerous, expired or unused prescription drugs. Hopewell residents can bring medications to the police collection site in the Cavalier Square Shopping Center. No needles, syringes or liquids will be accepted. The service is free with no questions asked.
