The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has made it mandatory for all vehicles to use FASTag at toll plazas from 1 January, 2021. This compulsion was only for four-wheelers. FASTag compulsory for all vehicles in India from this week 
Considering the benefits of FASTag, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) announced that FASTag will become mandatory for all vehicles from 1 January 2021 onwards. Previously, FASTag was made mandatory for four-wheelers only. This has been done to help the commuters to make payments at the toll plaza without stopping the vehicle for cash payment. FASTags are now being widely used in India ever since the MoRTH made them mandatory for vehicles at toll plazas on the national highway.
