Oman’s oil production reaches 318.62 million barrels

Muscat: Oman’s oil production, including condensates, stood at 318.62 million barrels until the end of November 2020, according to the latest data released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
The average oil price in November 2020 fell by 6.1 per cent compared to October 2020.
Of the total production, crude oil production fell by 8.9 per cent at 256.45 million barrels, while condensates production rose by 44.9 per cent to touch 62.17 million barrels.
The Sultanate recorded a daily average crude oil production of 951,100 barrels at the end of November 2020, against 971,000 barrels over the same period of 2019, the NCSI report added.

Scammers posing as survey agents making random calls in Oman to ask questions Raajeshwari Ashok, Correspondent
Muscat: An audio clip has been doing the rounds since yesterday. A scammer or a group of scammers poseing as survey agents have been caught making random calls to Omani citizens asking them various questions, seemingly related to some sort of survey.
Many Social Media users were quick to respond and advice people not to fall for such tricks of fraudsters that is akin to harming the security and status of the country. Such fraudulent misrepresentation can be subject to strict punishment as provisioned by Oman’s laws.
NCSI carrying out opinion poll on COVID-19 vaccine

Muscat: The National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), in cooperation with the Directorate General for Disease Surveillance & Control at the Ministry of Health, continues carrying out an opinion poll during December 15 - 31, 2020, on a sample of 3,000 Omani and non-Omani (18 years and over) in all parts of the Sultanate.
The survey poll aims to measure public awareness on COVID-19 vaccine, as well as the attitudes and practices related to the vaccine.
The poll also aims to identify the surveyed individual’s view on the safety of the vaccine, their belief on its capability to prevent them from the infection, their opinion on whether it is necessary to take the vaccine for those with a history of infection, the side effects of the vaccine, and number of doses needed.
