Miley named NL Player of the Week

Coming off his no-hitter against Cleveland on Friday night, Reds pitcher  Wade Miley has been named the National League Player of the Week presented by Chevrolet. Miley made history with the no-no in his last outing, allowing just two baserunners while striking out eight Indians hitters in the 3-0 Reds win in Cleveland. His effort marked the 17th no-hitter in Reds franchise history and the first since Homer Bailey’s against San Francisco in July 2013. The veteran lefty becomes the first Reds pitcher to win the award since Johnny Cueto in August 2014. Outfielder Nick Castellanos was the Reds’ most recent winner in August 2020.
