3593 Cases disposed off, Rs. 21.50 Cr awarded as compensation/settlement amount
JAMMU, APRIL 17: National Lok Adalat was today held across the UTs of J&K and Ladakh in which 3593 cases were resolved besides an amount of Rs.21.50 Crore was settled.
As the entire citizenary including the litigants are in deep mental stress due to ill surge in COVID-19 Pandemic, J&K Legal Services Authority, and Ladakh Legal Services Authority, under the stewardship of Chief Justice, High Court of J&K & Patron-in-Chief J&K & Ladakh Legal Services Authorities, Justice Pankaj Mithal, and under the guidance of Executive Chairman J&K Legal Services Authority, Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey and Executive Chairman, Ladakh Legal Services Authority, Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur, organized National Lok Adalat throughout the U.Ts of J&K and Ladakh, today on Saturday, 17th April, 2021.

Jammu: On the direction of Chairman National Legal Services Authority and under the aegis of Patron-in-Chief and Executive Chairman J&K State Legal Services Authority, Justice Ali Mohammed Magre, a National Lok Adalat was today held in the District Court Complex, Janipur Jammu under the Chairmanship of M.L. Manhas„ Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Jammu.
A total five benches were constituted at District. The first bench was presided over by M. L. Manhas, Pr. District & Sessions Judge, Jammu, assisted by R. S. Jasrotia, Presiding Officer, MACT, Jammu and Syed Saifraz Hussain Shah, Addl, Distt. Judge, (Bank Cases) Jammu and it dealt with MACT and Bank cases.
Srinagar: In pursuance to the directions of National Legal Services Authority, the National Lok Adalat was today conducted at Srinagar, Ganderbal, Shopian, Kulgam and Kupwara districts of Kashmir division.
The Lok Adalat was organised to settle Pre-litigation, pending cases in the courts particularly MACT, matrimonial, family disputes, labour disputes, civil and criminal cases, bank recovery cases, electricity and water bills besides cases related to other civil matters.
At Srinagar: A National Lok Adalat was today organized under the Chairmanship of Pr. District & Sessions Judge Srinagar, Mohammad Akram Choudhary at District Court Complex Moominabad Srinagar, in which cases as per NALSA directions were fixed.
