The fate of American democracy rests in the hands of Michelle Obama, or more precisely, in her arms. Should she choose to give Donald Trump a hug, the Democratic Party the high-salaried commentariat and the various jesters of pop culture will ostensibly have no choice but to forgive him for his catalogue of atrocities. If Trump had even a little strategic savvy, rather than pathetically throwing inane grievances From the Desk of Donald J. Trump, Geocities-style, he would position himself next to the former first lady at a televised public gathering, and carefully drop a lozenge into her palm.

2021/05/07 LONDON (ICIS) The ability to provide carbon-neutral LNG cargoes could become an essential part of LNG trade by the 2030s, traders have said. Sources at three European gas providers told ICIS they plan to test-buy carbon-neutral LNG cargoes in the coming year and several more said they are looking at the possibility. More cargoes could come from the US, a significant change of outlook considering how France’s ENGIE pulled out of a contract deal with NextDecade last year. The French government, a major shareholder in ENGIE, had expressed concerns about methane emissions in centres of US gas production.

ir pollution is one of the biggest killers across the world. Of course, no death certificate lists air pollution as the cause of death. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 4.2 million deaths occur globally each year because of ambient air pollution exposure. Research also shows that ambient air pollution accounts for one out of every 25 premature deaths.
Besides health implications, air pollution has a devastating impact on the environment and local and global economies. Although air pollution can come from domestic sources, the single largest air pollution source is from industries, whether industrial facilities, oil refineries, power plants, or factories. Emissions from the construction industry are a close second.

“I grew up fishing the Cape and I’ve watched the seal population grow over the years and completely decimate surf fishing on the back beaches from Race Point to Nauset,” said Matt Perachio of Tighten Up Charters out of Provincetown. “Nobody’s fishing off those beaches anymore.”
“Ten years ago, we never saw seals, but now they’re everywhere,” said Willy Hatch, who’s been fishing the Cape and Islands for over 25 years as the captain of Machaca Charters in Falmouth. “They’re at Squibnocket Beach, Vineyard Sound, the Elizabeth Islands, Woods Hole, the Muskeget Channel. Often, the seals hear me anchor up and set up behind my boat. If I manage to hook a fish, a seal takes it right off my line. It gets worse every year as their population increases and their range expands.”
